There are a handful of OBDII scanners that can reset the service indicator on the '98 models. Most scanners can't do this. Alex Peper's system (www.obd-2.com) is one of few that can.

Alternatively, there are single-function reset tools that can do this, as well. IPD used to sell one, but I can't find it on their web site anymore. Fortunately, FCP Groton still sells one: http://www.fcpgroton.com/CSV70/csv70other.htm -- search for "SIRV".
