No, for both of you, this is how the ABS module begins to "go." You will need your ABS modules rebuilt, and there's an expert here who does it. Search for Victor Rocha. He'll give you instructions on how to take it out of your car, then you send it to him and he'll have it rebuilt BETTER than new and send it back to you, all for under $150. He beefs these up by adding heat sinks, etc. I had mine done last year by him. Took it out of the car on a Monday afternoon, sent it in and it was back that Friday. I've had absolutely no problems since. You can drive without the module in but you won't have ABS and the speedometer and odometer won't work. This is no big deal unless you drive on the interstate, then by all means, before you take it out, figure out what your RPM's are at the speed limit, because unless there are other cars around you, you might go too fast and get a ticket. The other option is to have the dealer install a new one that will eventually also fail...to the tune of at least $600 + the dealer's labor rate. The R&R of the module by any person is not that difficult with Victor's instructions. Just make sure you have an E5 torx bit to take the little torx screws out. If you can't find one, Victor can send you one of those as well.
