The 1998-2001 and XC70 is on the Consumer Reports "Used Cars to Avoid" list.
Going from a 240 to a XC70 is like going from a Wright Brothers' biplane to a supersonic jet.
One that was built by the Russians.
You might have some hope with a basic V70 with a stick shift if you can find one. My T5 turbo still uses no oil but I've been fairly anal about it's maintenance and I don't know that most previous owners would have been.
