Very quick car. Close to your 854 but different enough to make it feel great. Same long term problems: AC evaporator, sludge build up in separator, ball joint/tie rod ends, etc.
With the engine cold, have the owner start the car and you watch the exhaust for any smoke in the first 30 seconds. White or black will indicate problems with the turbo. Remember, steam will come out of the tail pipe as soon as the exhaust starts to warm up, and that is normal.
Check for any oil leaks, find out what kind of oil is being used, and if the car is used mainly for short trips. You may have to replace the oil separator and vacuum lines. FCPGroton has the kit to do that, and you probably want to do it anyway.
Remember, the traction control is only good for 25mph. Any speed above that in rain and snow/ice will cause both front wheels to break loose!
You will need to purchase premium grade gas, but that is OK. I went from middle grade to premium on my V70 and the milage on the highway went from 24 to 27mpg!
Have fun,
Klaus
