2 things to look at first. There is a switch at the brake peddle which releases vacuum. Sometimes you might be able to bend the bracket 1 mm closer to make up for wear.
Check the vacuum lines under the battery tray for cracks. Any loss of vacuum pressure will turn the CC off.
