Both...the door panel comes out and then the triangular piece. The rest is self explanatory. Screws inside the triangular section and a plug inside the door. You'll need a "bone tool" or blunt butter knife to get the plastic door lock trim off and out of the way. Once the clips on the bottom of the door panel are removed, the whole door panel lifts up and it will come out. You can set it on something to keep from disconnecting the door/window switch while you r&r the mirror.
