I would try to oil it ,nothing to lose .
On mine I left the plastic cover on the motor in place .
then drilled a small hole in the plastic ,right in the center (should have a dimple there and you should be able to see the motor shaft ) then squirt some oil on shaft . did mine 2 years ago still working fine
