Actualy their quote was almost identical to the Jag dealership. My car came with a crazy 50/50 warranty where I have to pay half for covered repairs. I have to come out of pocket about 800, which is still better than I could find at even Tampa's best non-indy volvo shops who quoted about 1500 for the repair. Trust me, I tried to get some sort of credit ( I would have settled for way less than half) to let the volvo guys do it, but the dealership wasn't having it. I actually anticipated a BS bait and switch quote for 2500 from the Jag dealership, but I took it to Volvo first to keep them honest. Bottom line - I am not going to spend the extra 800 and let the Jag guys give it their best shot. If it's not right or the dash squeaks etc. I'll probably end up in court!
The Jag service manager assured me it would be done right with genuine volvo parts - we'll see.
Anything I can pass along regarding your airbag comment? Do you know of something unique to a volvo vs. Jag, Mercedes, BMW?
Thanks for responding,
Mike
