If you don't want to hassle with a laptop connection, I'd recommend the Equus Innova 3100 (which I have and it workd great!), or the newer ones 3300? The newer ones will read CAN BUS too which means volvos made for MY '05 and newer. The one we have works great on my S70 as well as my wife's '04 V70. I bought mine on eBay for about $80 including case and shipping.
