Correct. While differences in diameter are paramount, so will the tire resistance or grip affect the awd. Having different tread patterns on the front/rear will be negative to the bevel gear oil, overheating will destroy the viscosity of the oil and turn it into mud.
I suggest you find a mechanic willing to pump out the excuse for oil that is in your bevel gear housing, and replace it with new oil.
Remember to rotate the tires EVERY time you change the oil in the engine.
