Why don't you try tightening the oil filter by hand - maybe it wasn't put on tight enough???

If you had the oil changed before you garaged it, maybe the oil filter gasket from the old oil filter got stuck (have had that happen) and when the new filter was put on, a good seal could not be formed because of an extra gasket there.

Worth a shot before you have it towed.
