Replacing O2 Sensor V70-XC70

...And for my next Volvo project I wanted to replace the O2 sensor. I got under the car and found the sensor upstream of the catalytic converter. I then followed the wire along to where the connector was -- between the transmission and the firewall.

Boy, no matter how I tried to get my hand on the connector I couldn't do it. There was always something in the way. I'm wondering if there's a good way to get at these connectors? Everything else looks straight forward except unconnecting the old sensor and connecting the new one. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get access to the O2 sensor connector?

I have the XC turbo engine so the extra plumbing may be part of my problem.

Thanks,

RGW
