On my 95 850 the bolt holes holding the lower end of the strut are enlarged enough so you can shift the position a little before tightening. When disassembling I marked the position carefully so I could restore the same alignment.

Only a couple of degrees of variation is possible. What is the specific problem? If you are unable to get the alignment in spec is something bent?
