LCD Bulb Burned Out On Your SC-816??? V70-XC70

If you've experienced the problem with the LCD backlighting bulb in your SC-816 burning out, then even if you replaced all the accessible bulbs in the unit with Honda p/n 35505-S84-N01 you found, as I did, that it didn't fix the problem!

I turns out that if you separate the PC board from the front display; and then unsolder and remove the metal bezel from the LCD, you will find one more of these same bulbs (without a socket) soldered into the PC board. Unsolder that bulb, solder an a new one and the LCD will light up once again.

While the steps are few, the soldering and especially the removal and re-installation of the bezel are not easy. I pryed up a bit too much on mine and now one of the digits in the LCD display is not working correctly. I'll know better next time.

If anyone has an SC-816 that isn't working and would like to sell it cheap please email me, I would like to perform this experiement again. This time I'll take a few pics and post them for those interested.
