There is a point of no return for the angle gear: The oil will force its way out and leak down the side of the box. At that point, it will need to be replaced.
Anyone else with AWD, I reccomend changing the fluid every 60K miles. Also, if your AWD system has a rear differential, change that at 100K miles.
