Suspension shift when C/A taken out

First post Im new. So today I go to replace my control arm bushing and everything came out fine. When I go to put it back in I realize that the ball joint and strut and everything have shifted abiout 4 inches forward. How do you pull it back? Does the tie rod need to be disconnected?
