Scratch remover?

In the stupid move of the year (thus far and the year isn't very old) I put a 3" scratch on the side of my brick. The scratch is obvious but I cannot feel it when I run a fingernail across it. Have any of you guys tried any of these scratch remover gimmicks before I waste my hard earned $$ or would I have better luck trying to rub it out with polishing compound? Thanks!
