Hi All,
I'm a new Volvo owner and hoping to find some advice here. I have a 2004 XC90. I love the car (used to have a Toyota Sienna, this is more fun to drive!).
I bought it used. Shortly after purchased it I noticed an annoying vibration/rattle at low speeds and generally only during acceleration.
I figured out that it was the roof console that controls the sunroof and front interior lights.
3/4 of the console are tightly sealed against the roof but a small part of it is loose enough that I can stick two credit cards through it. This was causing the rattle.
I "fixed" it by sticking a thin piece of cardboard between the roof and the console.
My husband doesn't want to take it into Volvo to get it fixed and I have to say I agree...my feeling is that taking it off for reassembly would, in the long run, probably not be a good idea.
In the meantime, I was thinking about gluing the unsealed piece back up to the roof.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Should I just take it into volvo and have them deal with it?
Thanks for your help.
