225/45/17 tires

A diagram on the IPD July-Aug 2001 newsletter shows a 225-45-17 tire on an 8" rim. IPD says 225-45-17s should fit the 1998-2000 70 series.

It seems you are certain that a 225 width tire will fit on a 7" rim. I'm under the impression that you need at least a 7.5" rim.

I have 215-45-17 tires on 7" rims and they work fine. I've thought about 225s but I don't think my rims are wide enough.
