On the web there are many listings of generic codes which are not consistent with each other. I think banks refer to rows of cylinders (for an inline engine there is only 1 bank, bank 1, while for a v6 etc there are 2 banks). Sensor 1 should refer to the front sensor, 2 to the rear (on bank 1). On some lists sensor 3 would be the front sensor on bank 2 and sensor 4 would be the rear sensor on bank 2.

So I think your code refers to one of the rear sensors if you have a v-engine and the lone rear sensor if you have an inline engine.

If anyone knows of a definitive source of the codes that could help everyone!
