Found Front caliper piston boot was dislodged during pad replacement. 850 1995

A nasty surprise while changing the pads.

So the piston looked a bit rusty and I pushed it back in. I'm guessing it will probably start leaking soon.

Is it common for this boot to pop loose out of the caliper?

Can I just replace one caliper?

The first time the pads were replaced the car was under warantee. Think the tech would have ignored this problem rather than try for a warantee repair?
