Have been having this problem intermittently...now permanently. Car would crank...but not start. Would work for days...then randomly happen. Didn't matter if it sat 5 minutes or days. Cycling the door locks would cure the problem. Basically activating, and deactivating the alarm. Didn't matter if the key was used, or the remote.
Kept happening more and more frequently. Finally...culminating at the point where I had to get my wife to the ER...it's toast. No start. Didn't matter HOW many times I cycled the blasted locks. It was cranking, though.
I noticed in my POS Chilton's manual there are TWO relays on an A/T. One is the anti-theft relay, and the other is a starter kill switch. I'm ASSuming they're BOTH contained in the fancy, giant red Anti-Theft-Alarm Relay with the C210 F211 on it under the dash? I'm guessing the anti-theft relay kills fuel, and the second one kills the starter. I know when the alarm is activated...no cranking.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any way to test the relay? Any sources online? The dealer will rape me I'm sure. I don't care about an alarm...I just want the blasted car to start! Dunno what pins to run a jumper to, etc. as I don't have a schematic. Don't exactly have a 12V test source, but can find one.
Short of fixing it myself...I'm just gonna burn the cursed thing to the ground.
Thanks!
