1999 V70 T5M. Time for the 90,000 mile service. The maintenance chart says "PCV service". AFAIK, there is no PCV valve on any Volvo, and a flame trap on non-turbos. But on the T5, what constitutes a PCV service?
I see there is an "oil trap" that requires removal of the intake manifold. The new IPD catalog has a picture of the oil trap and hoses and describes it as a flame trap. There is definitely an oil trap system on my T5, but I've read posts on the Brickboard that the oil trap is NOT the flame trap.
So, what needs to be done? Pull the whole thing off, replace the hoses and turn the trap upside down & shake out whatever's in it? Or do I just say "Hey, I've run synthethic oil since new and changed it every 3,750 miles, so my motor is clean as a whistle" and just ignore the damn thing?
