Lug nut torque V70-XC70 2000

I just picked up a 2000 V70 which replaced a '94 850 Wagon. Having just put new tires on the V70, I checked the lug nut torgue as tire mechanics are notorious for overtightening the lug nuts (which they did). When I checked the specs, the owners manual calls for 100 lb-ft of torque. My 850, and 2 S70's call for 81 lb-ft of torque. Does anyone know why the increase to 100 lb-ft with the 2000 V70? I will, of course, comply with the owners manual, I was just curious.
