Your lack of periods took a while to decifer :(

Check the wiring from the alt to the battery, especially at the battery post where corrosion can take a big chunk of the copper and disolve it. Also check the ground strap from the battery to the body. Make sure there is no rust.

Please answer, we need to know if the advice is good or bad. The 164 has a new home, all I am left with are 2 turbos :)
