98 V70 Odometer Reset after battery installed V70-XC70 1998

I have a buddy that has a 98 V70 and last week he had the battery replaced. When the battery was installed and started the odometer reset to 0 miles, the ABS and TRACs light also came on.

I am puzzled on what happend to the speedometer.

Let me know if anyone had any ideas?
