I was curious to know if i have the right thermostat? I have a 1999 Volvo S70 GLT and the dealer sold me a thermostat that opens at 87C but i thought turbos had a 84C one ....well cooler? any thoughts?

Also i was wondering how long the alternators go for? My car only has 80k miles on it but i didnt know when i should be due for a new one? Right now my battery is going bad so i have to get a new one. Its kind a weak on startup.
