Thanks for the great info. Other than a new axle and spare time, the only thing I need is a 36mm socket. I think I have one that's close.

I did check out bay13. I've heard of it before but in 14 years of working on my own Volvos I think that was the first time I ever visited the site. Looks like some good info.
