Cause for FWD cv shaft replacement?

a-ha! that's exactly what I thought! it's the boot tearing that accelerates the bearing wear (by dirt entering) that leads to warrant the replacement of the whole shaft!

sorry, I just dont' like replacing components that's easily preventable.
