OK........since my first post I listened for the pump under the hood, while the ball and chain pushed the rear washer button ---- silence (rear wiper running at the time). Fuse is OK.

So, I assume the pump is toast. It's in the same reservoir, from what I understand ---- but how to get to it / get it out / replace ? As I said before, I'm not a great mechanic in any case, but I know virtually zero about the V70.

Any tips or directions to helpful websites deeply appreciated. This car doesn't have a wing, and here in Ohio's winter, it's building up a ton of crap on the rear window every day !!!!!
