Airbag maintenance V70-XC70 2001

I can't comment much more than what Klaus has stated, but his comment that Volvo MIGHT have a 10 year liability got me wondering. The company I work for builds small explosive components mostly for the aerospace industry. However we had a product line that was once heavily used as an ignitor for automotive airbags (early design). We were required by contract to maintain our build records for 20 years, so I wonder if the liability isn't longer than 10 years.

If the car is a 2001, should you be doing this in 2011?
