I have replaced my belt twice with no problems. All I did was rotate the engine to TDC by hand and ensure the cam & crank timing marks were at their correct positions. Fit the tensioner back on and pull the new belt tight round the front from the bottom crank to the top of front cam sprocket. Make sure there's no slack between the crank/cam1/cam2 or any chance the belt is out of alignement and then pull the pin on the tensioner. I would then crank the engine by hand and make sure everything aligned correctly by stopping at TDC and re-check the timing marks.
