You are not going to like my answer. The micro switch is in side the locking mechanism and cannot be repaired, as far as I know.

To verify the the switch is bad, open the hatch. Using a screw driver, close the latch hook by pushing it up. There are 2 positions, make sure it clicks in to the second position. Then check the light to see if it is on or off.
If that turned off the light, the switch is OK. You will need to move the strike plate on the bumper forward about 1/8th of an inch. A Torx 40 driver to loosen the 2 screws. Do NOT move it forward a lot, otherwise you will break the lock mechanism's plastic parts.

In the meantime, turn the switch at the rear light to turn off the light. Otherwise your battery will drain too much.
