850 Antenna

I know there are bunches of threads about replacing the antenna, but I couldn't find one with this problem.

I have the entire old mast out, sleeve and extra line included. I can get the gear to grab the new line, but it takes about 2 inches of it, then it stops.

Ive tried it about 15 times, same result, turns on, grabs line , takes it two inches, stops.

So naturally when i turn it back on, it comes loose..

HELP!? I can't seem to figure this out.
