Dealers will use "substandard" when they can get away with it. But they only sell the expensive stuff to their customers. They save a few bucks with every oil change, tranny flush, and the customer is no wiser.

Always use synthetic when possible. PS and tranny fluid should be flushed, just like antifreeze and brake fluid. AND rear differentials for awd cars.
