HI...
I once had an Audi that I did not use for some weeks, and sure enough the fuel pump failed! SO--- I went and bought a new fuel pump, fitted it, and everything worked!---SO fine. At the post mortem of the old pump I found that there was a check valve external to the pump that contained a neoprene valve element and it had bonded itself to its seating preventing any fuel flow!!
It was a very simple job to free it, and and bring it back to life. It did cost me £200 (10 years ago) to find that out though. Such is life.
Klaus would know better than me if it could happen to your car,and were it might be found.
I cringed at the time;and I still do.
Best regards.
