CV joints 850 1995

Hello. I used the instructions for hub removal on bay13 for the halfshaft/CV joint replacement (I didn't try to service the joints). I used generic replacements from FCP Groton, which worked fine.

This method involves removing the two control arm bolts (there are 2 other mehtods I believe). I found it easy. I disconnected my sway bar link, as I tried first without doing it and it made reinstalling the control arm bolts difficult while fighting the strut assembly.

The left one is harder to pop/pry out of the transmission. Be careful not to damage the seals in the transmission, which some people recommend replacing. The right shaft has a journal that supports it in the middle somewhere. Just a couple of 12 mm bolts to pull out.

An air wrench is real nice to loosen the 36mm nut. If you don't have one, use a long bar/extention (4 feet) while the wheel is on the ground. Use a BFH to loosen the axle from the hub. A few onces of transmission fluid may leak out of the transmission when the axle is removed.

It looks like you have other problems as well. One step at a time. Good luck. Don
