If you DIY, then keep the car and get these easy things fixed. If you don't DIY, find a better car.
The AC needs a can of dye, to do a leak test, and a can of r134a to add pressure so that it will leak again. You will need a black light to find the dye. But, it is probably the hose in the front of the car that runs the length of the condenser. To fix, if that is the problem, I suggest getting a new hose and new receiver/drier tank, having the system evacuated and recharged at an AC shop. About $200.
