After some discussion with my motorhead friends, it's not advisable to let synthetic oils [even "15K mile" oils] go unchanged for more than about 5K, particularly in turbo engines since the extreme high heat produced by the turbos accelerates the breakdown of oils......so long oil changes = shortened turbo life.
