Fuel Pump Replacement 850 1996

Unless your fuel gauge isn't working, don't bother with the whole assembly. Just get the pump. Hopefully it's just a relay.

When I did the job there was a big price difference between the OEM Bosch unit and a Hella branded replacement. Naturally I went the cheaper route. The box said Hella, but the pump was definitely a Walbro.

The Walbro fit up just OK - not a direct plug and play. This particular Walbro was very noisy. No mistaking when it was pumping fuel. It could even be heard while the engine was sitting at idle. All that aside, after installing that pump (and a new FPR) the starter barely engaged before the engine fired.

Good luck,
Will
