Buy and install an OEM thermostat before you blow up the engine! Until then, take the thermostat from Pepboys out and throw it in the trash. You will be better off not having a thermostat than keeping that thing in there.
The engine will run rich but cooler without the thermostat, and you will need it before the weather turns colder.

If you suspect air in the system, just grab the coolant hose at the top of the engine and squeeze it a few times with the cap off the overflow bottle.
