After seriously considering going back to an older bmw for a daily car, the Volvo wins this easily with it's better fuel economy, and cheaper insurance costs.
Considering the S60 has been highly recommended by consumer reports, I'm wondering if I should start wiht a nice slightly older smaller Volvo (considering the last one I owned was an 81 245DL). Are these more DIY accessible? how's the reliability? are they worth considering given they are rather rarer than the other volvo's (fewer parts avail. etc.)
I've noticed on ebay and edmunds, that owners after 04 really like their cars, but owners b4 that time, don't really enjoy the frequent visits of electrical gremlins that seem to affect many older volvos (i.e. the 850, s/v70 etc.) incl dash lights, burnt light bulbs etc.
thanks for the input
