I decided to see what I could do about cleaning the MAF sensor this am. I pulled the sensor and cleaned it with several applications of CRC MAF sensor cleaner.
I decided to change the air filter while I was in there so I went to Advance Auto to get a filter. I decided to bite the bullet for a scanner while I was there and bought an Actron scanner.
When I got back to the car, just for grins, I decided to run the codes before I cleared them. I did and got a P0107 code (map/Baro low circuit input)imagine my astonishment when I got that code!
Remember my posts earlier in the week? I thought I should have seen A MAF code not a MAP code, based of what the guy at the parts store said a couple of days ago.
Because the last fault code the car had while the dealer was trying to get it ready to sell was a MAF code, that was what I was sort of expecting. Then I remembered that the parts guy had sorta stumbled over the code definition and said something like " Oh yeah, a mass air flow sensor code." He replied "yeah, that's it!" Looks like I put words in his mouth!
So I have given my self a couple of Dope slaps and got out the manual.
So my question is does this code mean that the Voltage is low at the Map sensor or that the data going to the ECU reflects a low data value?
In any case I cleared the code and tracked down the Map sensor location on the shroud on top of the fan. I expect to get the code back, but hope that I have a bit more information so I can decide if I need to replace the sensor or look for a low voltage supply.
Any thoughts?
