Clutch or hydraulics? 850 1997

It does seem as if the clutch is worn beyond the range of self-adjustment (assuming the clutch is a self-adjusting type).

When dealing with difficult engagement though it is worth taking a look at the engine mounts too. If one or more are bad and the engine has shifted position a bit this can be responsible.
