Mine does that every once in a while. The "clicks" come from the adjustment mechanism that reaches it's limit. You probable have the mirror in a marginal position (i.e. your legs are either too long or too short ;-) ).

I typicaly fix it by pushing the mirror surface with fingers in the desired direction. That stops clicking.
