For the door lock, it sounds like the red plastic of death. To make sure, the panel needs to come off and the metal linkages inspected to rule them out.
As for the rear window, run it up and down several times from the rear door switch. Lack of use lets the switch corrode. If it starts to perform nicely back there, then do the same with the front switch. You might want to move the front switch about a hundred times with the key out, just to clean up the contacts.
