hi all and especially to Klaus, here is an update. i must be one helluva a mechanic. i printed out instructions to change the thermostat and starting poking around the engine to see what i'm up against and these codes went away!! the last 2 days we in CT have seen 60+ temps and i guess the thermostat must be happy and opening faster. so i guess i will be visiting my local Volvo guy during the week and installing the thermostat next weekend.
