Replacement ignition key for 2001 V70 V70-XC70

I wish I could save you and all of the others who only have one key or are in need of a remote. The dealers are charging 1 hour of labor to program the key/remote to the car, when it only takes 15 minutes. Cutting a key blank only takes 5 minutes, plus the time to reprogram the security module.

A very nice email to Volvo of America is in order. A new key should NOT cost $300, nor should a new remote cost $200. Considering inflation and the complexity, $50 sounds much more reasonable for either. There needs to be a better way than to alienate customers.
