Top. Get a new O ring and clamp if you haven't done so already. I imagine that the clamp is quite rusty. And, don't pump out more than 2 quarts at a time. Pull the air intake hose off the air cleaner box and then pull it back away from the radiator to give yourself lots of room for the funnel.
