The best blades are the new one piece style, but I don't know how they get attached to the arm or if you need a new arm. These blades are one piece and on all of the new cars.

Going 1 inch longer should not be a problem.

BTW, I have used RainX on the windshield in the warmer months and it is great for keeping the water off the windshield at above 40mph.
